A microchip is the only permanent form of pet identification β and it's required for UAE registration, international travel, and getting your pet back if they're lost.
A microchip is a tiny implant β about the size of a grain of rice β placed under your pet's skin between the shoulder blades. It contains a unique identification number that can be read by any veterinary scanner worldwide. The chip itself contains no battery, no GPS, no tracking ability β it's purely an ID system, but a permanent one.
We use ISO 11784/11785 compliant 15-digit chips β the international standard required by the UK, EU, Australia, New Zealand, USA, Canada, and most other major destinations. Older or non-ISO chips may not be readable by standard international scanners.
Microchipping is a routine procedure that takes seconds. We use a sterile applicator to insert the chip just under the skin β most pets show no more reaction than they would to a routine injection. There's no recovery period, no stitches, and no follow-up appointment needed.
We register the chip with the relevant UAE database and provide you with the documentation. Make sure your contact details are kept up to date with the registry β a chip with outdated information is worse than no chip at all if your pet is lost.
Travelling abroad? The microchip MUST be implanted before the rabies vaccination for the vaccination to count toward international entry requirements. If you're planning to relocate, get the chip first, then the rabies vaccination.
