Why annual exams matter

Pets age roughly seven times faster than people. A year between check-ups for your dog or cat is the equivalent of you not seeing a doctor for seven years. Many conditions — kidney disease, heart problems, dental disease, early-stage cancers — develop silently and respond much better to early treatment.

An annual wellness exam isn't just a formality. It's the single most cost-effective thing you can do for your pet's long-term health.

How often should my pet be examined?

For most healthy adult cats and dogs: once a year. For puppies and kittens: every 3-4 weeks until vaccination courses are complete. For senior pets (over 7-8 years for dogs, 10+ for cats): every six months, since age-related conditions can develop quickly.
